The Disc Launching Shield is a single-fire Hasbro blaster that was released in 2011 to help promote the Captain America: The First Avenger film. It requires four "AA" batteries to be operated.

It comes packaged with five discs.

The blaster resembles a miniature version of Captain America's shield and mounts to the user's wrist for use. The trigger is at the finger areas, for the user to activate easily. The discs are very similar to the ones used with the Motorized Arc FX Gauntlet and the Motorized Spider Force Web Blaster. Like the two aforementioned blasters, it is a flywheel blaster, and the batteries are used to power the flywheels. It advertises a range of up to twenty feet.

It was later followed up in 2013 with the Stealthfire Shield, which fired Elite Darts instead of discs.

Reloading and firing

To reload the Disc Launching Shield, simply open up the flap at the top of the blaster and insert five discs. Close the flap and strap the blaster onto your arm before turning the power on. Wait for a few seconds to allow the blaster's motors to fully prepare.

Pull the trigger to fire a disc.
