The Dual is a Zuru blaster that was released in 2011 under the X-Shot series.

It comes packaged with four X-Shot Darts, six X-Shot Discs, and instructions.

Details

The Dual took over the spot of smallest blaster in the X-Shot line, which was previously held by the Stealth, although today the Micro has been released in a larger size. This blaster was among the first in the X-Shot series to fire discs, which was later followed up with the Xcess. The blaster has storage for one dart underneath the barrel, and holds several discs at once in the orange piece at the top, which chambers the discs. The darts and discs can be fired at the same time due to using the same firing mechanism. The Dual operates similar to the Nerf N-Strike Nite Finder EX-3 although it lacks the built-in light.

The Dual, when re-released under the Air Zone brand, unlike most blasters, actually had minor changes. The disc capacity of the blaster was slightly increased, and the space from which discs are shot was also increased in size. The reasons for this are unknown, however it could possibly have happened to increase the performance of the discs or to accommodate different types of discs.

History

The blaster was going to initially be released under the name Duel, although for unknown reasons, the blaster's name was changed at the last minute. This could have possibly been done to give more of a highlight to the blaster's ability to fire more than one type of ammunition at one time.

This blaster was released in late 2011 one of the follow-ups to the first three blasters to be released under the X-Shot line, alongside the Turbo-Fire. This blaster was re-released under the Air Zone brand in 2012; performance remained unchanged, although it did feature some enhancements to the disc-firing function.

In late 2013, the Dual was re-released under the X-Shot Excel and X-Shot Zombie lines. For these new lines, the Dual was packaged with new Excel Darts. The Dual was also re-released in 2013 with updated internals and claims of sixty-five foot ranges.

Color schemes

The Dual has been released in the following color schemes:

Reloading and firing

To reload the Dual, simply load one dart into the barrel and or several discs in the orange piece at the top. Pull the cocking mechanism at the back until a click is heard, and release.

Pull the trigger to fire a dart or disc; both will be fired at the same time if both are loaded.
