The Furyfire is a Nerf blaster that was released in 2009 under the Dart Tag series.

It comes packaged in the Furyfire 2-Player Set and cannot be purchased separately.

Details[]

The FuryFire is a single-fire revolver-style blaster with a ten-dart cylinder. This cylinder advances upon a half trigger pull, similar to other revolver-style blasters like the Hyperfire, the Maverick REV-6, and the Firefly REV-8.

There are two versions of the blaster. The first had a fully enclosed cylinder which can cause some types of darts to become stuck in it. Later versions featured a modified cylinder with a recessed front for dart access.

It features a single tactical rail on top. A single extra dart can be stored in the base of the handle.

History[]

It was introduced as the largest blaster in the 2009 Dart Tag lineup, and was the default blaster used in NDTL competitions to replace the earlier Hyperfire blaster which once was the default NDTL blaster. However, with the release of the 2011 Dart Tag blasters, the Furyfire was no longer used in competitions.

In 2012, the blaster was re-released with a new, red color scheme as a promotional blaster for the film G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Color schemes[]

The Furyfire has been released with the following color schemes:

  • Green
  • Orange

Trivia[]

  • The Furyfire features the Maverick's reverse plunger, but has a better O-ring seal on its plunger tube, giving it a slightly better performance than the Maverick.[citation needed]
  • This blaster utilizes the same cylinder rotation mechanism present in the Hyperfire, which can be considered the predecessor to this blaster.
