Gear Up is a sub-series of Nerf N-Strike blasters that was released in 2011.

Gear Up blasters came packaged with a single XLR Disc to help advertise the then-upcoming Vortex series.

Details

The blasters in the Gear Up sub-series featured an orange, black, and white color scheme. Some parts of the blaster have "unique black and orange deco designs", or diagonal black lines, that go from top to bottom of the casing of the blaster. Special Gear Up darts had diagonal black lines traveling across them as well. The blasters in this series usually featured half of their included darts with this color scheme.

History

Much like the original purpose of the Clear Series, it was a count down to September 9, 2011 for the release of the Vortex series.

For unknown reasons, the Gear Up Recon CS-6 was unavailable in the United States.

Trivia

  • In a way, this can be considered Nerf's most promotionally failed sub-series, due to the fact that Vortex had already crept into stores and appeared on insider blogs before September 9th.
  • Aside from Red Strike, which had a limited release, this series has the fewest blasters out of all of the N-Strike sub-series.
