The glow-in-the-dark dart is a type of dart and ammunition.
They can be bought in refill packs and are also packaged with the Electric Eel, Firefly REV-8, N-Strike Rayven CS-18, N-Strike Elite Rayven CS-18, and all Glowstrike blasters.
Details
A glow-in-the-dark dart can be based off of a Mega Dart, Micro Dart, Streamline Dart, or Elite Dart.
As its name clearly states, this dart type can glow in the dark. This feature previously required special phosphorescent paper stuck onto the dart's body. The Streamline and Elite Dart variations have this trait built directly into the body foam. All types of glow-in-the-dark dart feature glowing heads.
Only the Electric Eel, Firefly REV-8, the Firefly Tech clip and all Glowstrike blasters have the internal lighting which actually triggers these darts' glow-in-the-dark properties.
History
The first blaster to have glow-in-the-dark darts was the 1997 Max Force Electric Eel; it featured a four dart clip to house and help fire them. The clip is also translucent in order for the darts to be charged.
The glow-in-the-dark dart was revisited in 2003; Micro Dart variations were released along with the Firefly REV-8. Unlike the Mega Dart version, refill packs were released as well.
The N-Strike Elite Rayven CS-18 is the only Elite blaster to feature glow-in-the-dark darts. Released in 2013, these glowing darts were based off of the Elite Dart. They require the use of a Firefly Tech clip to "charge" and glow. Like the Micro Dart version, refill packs were released.
Glow-in-the-dark darts were later released in 2016 under the Star Wars Glowstrike sub-series as Glowstrike Darts. Glowstrike Darts are similar to the Elite Dart variant glow-in-the-dark darts, except that they feature a green tip, a white body, and the Nerf and Star Wars logos on the darts. Like the Micro Dart and Elite Dart versions, refill packs were released.
