The Infinus is an upcoming Nerf blaster that will be released in fall of 2018[1] under the N-Strike Elite series.

It will come packaged with a thirty dart drum, thirty Elite Darts and instructions.

Details

The Infinus is a clip system blaster similar to the RapidStrike CS-18 in design. It has a unique feature in the form of a funnel in the back of the blaster, which will load darts fed through this funnel into any inserted clip without it having to be removed. The funnel also allows darts to be fed through it for firing, allowing it to be fired without a drum.[1] It also has an electronic status indicator, with lights that tell the user if the blaster is ready to fire, ready to be reloaded, or if it has jammed.[1]

The Infinus features an integrated stock in the back that houses the batteries, two tactical rails, and four strap points. Its clip release button is located just in front of its acceleration trigger. It also has a barrel extension attachment point on the front.

History

The Infinus was originally leaked in the summer of 2017, along with other blasters. Its name was originally unknown, until a distributor website unintentionally revealed its name.[2] Official information was announced in January 23, 2018[1], confirming a new drum magazine, a price point, and key / unique features of the blaster. It was later shown off at the 2018 New York Toy Fair.

Reloading and firing

To reload the Infinus, load up to thirty darts into its included drum. Alternatively, load darts through the back funnel while the drum is inserted to fill up the drum. Pull down on the acceleration trigger to rev up the flywheels.

Pull the firing trigger to fire a dart.

If no drum or clip is inserted, load a dart into the funnel while revving the flywheels to fire a dart.

Trivia

  • The Infinus may be used by Nerfers exclusively as a way of quickly loading spare clips.
  • The blaster seems to be a spiritual successor to the HyperFire, the Rapidstrike, or even to the N-Strike Stampede ECS.
  • The Infinus is the only blaster currently to feature a thirty-dart drum. So far, it has not been released with any other blaster or separately. It may be a way to bridge the gap in capacity between the twenty-five dart drum and the thirty-five dart drum
