Not to be confused with N-Strike Elite missiles.

The missile is a type of ammunition used in certain Nerf blasters.

Details

It is used by few Nerf blasters. It varies in color and has three wings, which are known to be quite flimsy. They are a lot like arrows, as they are long and have fins on the end to make them more aerodynamic, but they are much shorter than arrows, however. Once the fins become damaged both range and accuracy decrease dramatically.

Some variants of missiles could be purchased separately in refill packs.

History

It was first introduced in 1992 alongside the Missilestorm and NB-1 Missile Blaster. For many years, the missile was not used with any Nerf blasters until the release of the Arrow Strike, where they were released under the name "Mini Arrows", or "5" Arrows".[1] Performance remained unchanged despite the color and name swap.

Missiles are now discontinued and cannot be purchased in stores.

Variations

Buzzer Missile

SuperMaxxBuzzerAirBazookaMissile

The Buzzer Missile is a type of ammunition that has no clear relation with any other Nerf ammunition. It has, similar to various types of Arrows and Micro Darts, the ability to whistle, or as the name suggests, the ability to make a buzzing sound.

Despite the name, it has very little to do with the missile. None of the blasters compatible with missiles can use this ammunition. It is only usable in its patron blaster, the SuperMAXX Buzzer Air Bazooka.

SuperMAXX Missile

The SuperMAXX Missile (or Larami Missile) is a type of ammunition used in the original SuperMAXX line. It was used with the SuperMAXX 1500 Rapid-Fire Missile Blaster. They're extremely similar to Nerf missiles, except that SuperMAXX Missiles have fins that are angular in shape.
