The NB-1 Missile Blaster (known in some countries as the Pocket Rocket Missile Blaster) is a Nerf blaster that was released in 1992 under the Original Nerf name.

It comes packaged with three missiles.

Details

It was one of the few blasters that fired missiles. The NB-1 Missile Blaster had no trigger and was manually operated. To fire, the black handle is pushed away from the user, then pulled back, firing the missile through the air. Two ammunition holders are located at both sides of the blaster.

A small trigger grip is located on the black handle at the front of the blaster. The NB-1 Missile Blaster is one of the smallest blasters in the Original Nerf series. Although the blaster is intended to fire missiles, it can also fire Mega Darts.[1]

History

Interestingly enough, the NB-1 Missile Blaster's design predates the period when Kenner began producing Nerf products. The blaster itself had been around since at least 1989 under other toylines. It is unknown why it was brought over to the Nerf line.

It was re-released in 1996 under the Aero series with a different name; the Glider Launcher. Instead of firing missiles, it fired Aero Gliders. It was the only blaster to do so, and was the only blaster to be released in the Aero series.

Color schemes

The NB-1 Missile Blaster has been released in the following color schemes:

  • Red and black
  • Green and black (Glider Launcher)
  • Black and gold (Batarang Blaster)
  • Black and red (Blast Jets Thrust Launcher)

Reloading and firing

To reload the NB-1 Missile Blaster, simply insert one missile onto the front of the blaster. To fire, simply push the handle at the front forward.

Sharply pull backwards the handle to fire the blaster.

Trivia

  • The NB-1 Missile Blaster is the smallest blaster released to fire missiles.
  • Modification potential for this blaster is limited due to the way air is released.
  • In commercials for the blaster, it is only referred to as the NB-1.
