It cannot be purchased in retail stores. The only way to obtain it is through second-hand websites and stores.
Not to be confused with the Super Soaker of the same name.
It comes packaged with four Mega Darts.
It slightly resembles a rattlesnake to keep in theme with the Max Force line.
It features a barrel that holds four darts at a time. The Rattler does not have a trigger to fire it. Instead, it features a lever, pump-like system that fires darts when it is pulled all the way back. It also does not have a handle.
The Rattler did not fire clockwise like other blasters with a barrel. Instead, it fired in order from the upper left, lower right, upper right, and lower left. This unique design may have been in mind to try to confuse opponents.
The Rattler and its mechanism was designed by David Griffin and Ronald G. Boyle, and granted a patent on July 16th, 1996, under the representation of lawyer Kurt R. Benson. It was spiritually succeeded by the 1997 Ratchet Blast of the Cyber Stryke Gear series.
Reloading and firing
To reload the Rattler, load up to four darts in its turret.
Pull the priming handle all the way back to fire a dart; return it to its original position to fire again.
