A Sticky Dart is a type of Buzz Bee dart.
Details
Sticky Darts are a type of ammunition sold for a brief period of time by Buzz Bee. These particular darts were not sold with any blaster and instead were only sold as a twelve-pack. The tip of the dart head, instead of featuring a conventional suction cup tip or a streamline tip, features an adhesive substance which sticks to whatever the card collides with.
The design of this is very similar to Smart Stick Darts under the BOOMco. brand, though the Sticky Dart predates this design by at least a year.
From what is known today, only one color scheme was sold of the Sticky Dart. It is likely that cleaning the tip of the dart would allow it to remain sticky to the touch after heavy usage.
History
Sticky Darts were never featured on Buzz Bee's home page, one of very few recent products from the company.[1] The trademark for the title "Sticky Darts" was filed in 2004, which would lead one to believe that this technology had been developed and harbored for quite some time before its eventual release.[2] It is entirely possible and more than likely however relating to Suction Darts, also known under the moniker "Sticky Darts" in the past.
One of the earliest known times the Sticky Darts were spotted was in the form of a blog post by Buffdaddy Nerf on September 12, 2013.[3] Though sold predominately throughout 2013 and 2014, it is unknown when the Sticky Dart was truly introduced or discontinued.
