The Stinger is a single-fire pocket Nerf blaster that was released in 2013 under the Dart Tag series.

It comes packaged in the Target Tag set; two Stingers come packaged in the Dart Duel set. It cannot be purchased separately.

It is a Toys "R" Us exclusive in the United States.

Details

It is essentially a Jolt EX-1 with an extra shell over the top half. It features two dart holders on the top of the blaster. The blaster is primed by the gray slide at the bottom of the blaster.

History

The Stinger was originally listed alongside the Alpha Trooper CS-12 in a January 2013 Argos catalogue in the United Kingdom. It was confirmed later by Hasbro UK at the 2013 London Toy Fair.

It is the smallest blaster released in the Dart Tag line and was the only Dart Tag blaster released in 2013.

A reshell of the Stinger was released as the NanoFire.

Reloading and firing

To reload the Stinger, load a dart into the barrel; pull the plunger tube downwards to prime the blaster.

Pull the trigger to fire a dart.

Trivia

  • It was the very last Dart Tag blaster ever released.
  • It is the only modern Dart Tag blaster that is not yellow.
  • This, the Snapfire 8 and the Quick 16 are the only three modern Dart Tag blasters that were not released with a blue trigger.
