A SuperMAXX Dart is a type of Larami dart that was released in 1994 under the SuperMAXX series.

Details[]

SuperMAXX Darts are as a wide as a Mega Dart, and feature larger holes in the body compared to a Mega Dart. Shorter than Micro Darts, they performed slightly better than them[citation needed] and were popular due to this boost in performance. Their size is also similar to Stefan darts.

There are four variations of the dart: the original black or yellow variants produced by Larami, the green variants produced by Nerf, and a Sharper Image variant. The Larami variant is markedly shorter than the Nerf variant, and the Sharper Image variant is about 1/8th of an inch shorter than that.

They can be fired from some blasters that fire Mega Darts.

History[]

After Hasbro purchased Larami in 1995, they would merge a number of their pre-existing blasters into the Nerf SuperMAXX series of products. The SuperMAXX Dart saw use with these blasters, but only few of them, as others included Micro Darts instead. Despite this shift away from SuperMAXX Darts to Nerf's standard ammunition at the time, two refill packs were produced under the Nerf branding, one of which was released under the Nerf Action series.

Within several years, all blasters which previously used SuperMAXX Darts were either discontinued or replaced with updated versions that fired Micro Darts instead. The dart was officially discontinued in July of 1999.[1]
