A SuperMAXX Dart is a type of dart and ammunition.

Details

They are as a wide as a Mega Dart and shorter than a Micro Dart, they also have larger holes than Mega Darts. The SuperMAXX darts functioned like Micro Darts, but functioned slightly better. They were well known for their high performance.

There are two variations of the dart: the black versions as well as the yellow version were produced by Larami and were slightly shorter than the green version produced by Nerf.

History

They were introduced in 1994 and were originally produced by Larami when they had the rights to the SuperMAXX series. However, when Hasbro bought out Larami in 1997, they were carried over for use with the SuperMAXX blasters. Few blasters use this ammunition type, as Hasbro wanted to have the SuperMAXX series uniform with the other series by only utilizing the main two dart types, and not create a need for a third.

Within time all the blasters that used SuperMAXX darts were upgraded without them, or in the case of the SuperMAXX 5000, simply abandoned. The dart was officially discontinued in July of 1999.[1]
