Not to be confused with the 1996 Rip Rockets Switchfire.

The Switchfire is a Nerf blaster that was released in 1994 under the Nerf Action series.

It comes packaged with two different barrels, three Ballistic Balls, and three missiles.

Details

The Switchfire is a push-and-pull blaster in the same fashion as the Blast-a-Matic and Hydro Bazooka. It features two interchangeable barrels that allow users to fire either Ballistic Balls or missiles. The Switchfire is notorious for its barrels flying off the front of the blaster and causing injury.

History

Due to safety and legal concerns with the interchangeable barrels, it was pulled from shelves.[1]

Due to its short life on the market, it has since become a very rare blaster and arguably the rarest blaster in the Nerf Action series.

Reloading and firing

To reload the Switchfire, simply insert three Ballistic Balls into the front of barrel the blaster or one missile onto the muzzle of the blaster. Select one of the attachments to use, either the ball blaster attachment or the missile blaster attachment, and place the attachment on the front of the blaster.

To fire the blaster, simply pull the handle backwards until it cannot go back any further, and quickly push the handle forwards in order to fire a Ballistic Ball or missile.
