The Terrascout RC Drone is a Nerf product that was released in fall of 2016 under the N-Strike Elite series. It requires four "AA" batteries to be operated.[1]

It comes packaged with the drone itself, its remote, a detachable camera, a rechargeable battery and charger, an eighteen dart clip, and eighteen Elite Darts.[1]

Details

The Terrascout is a fully-automatic[1] clip system remote controlled blaster-like drone that has the ability to fire darts. It comes packaged with a 720p video camera[1], which can be equipped and viewed through the remote on an integrated LCD screen; this can be doubled as a portable aiming device. It has two tactical rails: one on its built-in handle and one below the muzzle. It is also compatible with barrel extensions.

The Terrascout is all-terrain (except for wet conditions[1]) and can be used indoors and outdoors.

Trivia

  • This is the first Nerf product that can move, fire darts, and record video footage all at the same time.
  • The drone is suggested to be a spiritual successor to the Combat Creatures Terradrone, being superior to it in mobility, firing rate and terrain adjustment.
  • It is generally regarded as superior to the Terradrone. However, like the Terradrone, it is not good for stealth and is very noisy.
  • It's the first Nerf drone to be compatible with barrel extensions, tactical rails, and so far is the only drone that implements the usage of the Clip system.
  • This is the most expensive Nerf product ever released. The Rhino-Fire previously held this record from winter of 2014 to fall of 2016. Keep in mind, this only meant stock retail prices, and does not include prices that have been artificially inflated.
  • While the Nerf Cam included an SD card, both the Battlescout camera and the Terrascout did not include one.
