The Z-Wrench Axe is a Nerf-branded Perpetual Play Group foam weapon that was released in 2014 under the Z.E.D. Squad sub-series.

The Z-Wrench Axe is a foam weapon designed to resemble an axe head in the jaws of a pipe wrench. The axe features the design of tape layers on the top of the blade. The Zombie Strike logo is seen on the blade itself. Unlike many other Zombie Strike melee weapons, this is not a conventional tool that could be used as a weapon, it is a unique concept that has not been used before.

The Z-Wrench Axe was one of several melee weapons released in the summer/fall of 2014, along with the 2x4, Crowbar Combat Kit, Hammer Combat Kit, and Chainsaw. It was first discovered in July of 2014.[1]
The Z-Wrench Axe was later renamed to the Foam Wrench Axe. After this name change, Perpetual Play Group stopped producing the product, and instead Jazwares started producing it under the standard Zombie Strike series.
